New drivers who earn their BDE certification may be eligible for a discount for their insurance depending on the area you live in, make, model, color and age of your car, and any other factors that your insurance company takes into account when rating your insurance quote. The Driver’s License History (DLH) provides proof of successful completion and graduation from a Beginner Driver’s Education (BDE) course. The DLH is widely recognized by the insurance industry as proof of course completion. Once your certification has been processed, your course completion will be recorded on your DLH which you may pick up from Service Ontario or order online.

The full course program consists of 20 hours of in-class or online theory instruction, 10 hours of flexible instruction/homework (homelinks), and 10 hours of in-vehicle training. These are the three Ministry requirements for certification eligibility.

Yes you can use the instructor’s car for an additional cost depending on which test centre you choose to go to. The use of the car for the road test will also come with a refresher lesson on the day of the exam. We strongly recommend opting to use your instructor’s vehicle for the road test as students will feel most comfortable driving the car that they have learned in. Additionally, the school roof sign on top of the car will alert other drivers on the road that the student is a beginner.

There are no age restrictions for our driving programs.

Only students are allowed during in-car lessons for insurance and liability reasons.
